Hello there, have we met ? I am Emma, and I am a breakfast lover. I can skip lunch, I don’t mind dinner, but breakfast … I love love breakfast ! So I regularly try new places in Dubai and here below you will find the best breakfasts for me today. As I discover more places, I will update it for you with more infos.
So, without further ado, here are my selection of the best breakfasts in Dubai.
SUM OF US
GF Burj Al Salam – Trade Center / 8am – 11pm everyday / +971 56 445 7526
A little obvious, I know, but hey, when it is good, it is good !
If you are a lover of good bread, home-made coffee and a trendy meal, this place is for you. With its modern industrial decor and a small outdoor seating area it is the perfect place for a Saturday morning breakfast. From 8am to 12pm, you can pick anything from the breakfast menu, and starting 12pm, you can also pick from the lunch options.
Among my favourites are the croissant (duhh obviously – go for the almond croissant if you feel super naughty), the Big Breakfast (a good classic) and the Confit Lamb salad (if you come after 12pm).

Jumeirah Beach Road, Umm Suqeim 2 / 7am – 10pm weekdays / 10.30pm weekends/ +971 4346 6292
Yes, you got me, I am a hipster place lover … Sorry not sorry !
If you are up for some vegan, gluten free food, around post workout sexy boys and girls, this is for you ! I only visited once, but I really loved the laidback vibe of that place.
It was really hard to pick something from the breakfast menu, as everything looked yummy, but I eventually settled for The Surfer Breakfast. At AED 94, it doesn’t come cheap, but you get a little bit of everything : 3 eggs your style, granola with greek yogurt, toast and fresh fruits. More surprising there is also a gluten free beetroot muffin (go ahead, roll your eyes !), which is actually pretty good. It all comes with a selection of tea or coffee and a fresh juice. Who needs anything else ? Next time I will make sure to try one of their Acai Bowl (they have a dedicated menu of Acai Bowls !!) . Each item on the menu is clearly marked as vegetarian, containing glutens, nuts or dairy. So if you have a specific diet, it is pretty easy to navigate around the menu.
Breakfast is served until 2pm.

Vida hotel, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, downtown / Boulangerie : 6.30am – 10.30pm / +971 4 428 6969
I said it before, I will say it again … You can take me out of France, but you can’t take French food out of me !
If you are looking for a delicious French breakfast in a chic Bistrot meets Boulangerie setting, La Serre is the place for you. I usually go for the classic scrambled eggs, half a fresh baguette with butter and jam, and a croissant (probably the best croissants in Dubai!). If you feel like splurging, try the scrambled eggs with French Perigord truffles … Because of the AED 200 price tag I never tried it, so I would love to hear your opinion about it !!!!
Just in case you are an early riser, the boulangerie opens at 6.30am.

TOM & SERG
15A Street, Al Joud Center, Al Quoz / Weekdays 8am – 4pm weekdays / 8am – 6pm weekends / + 971 56 474 6812
Tom & Serg is the brain child of Tom Arnel and Sergio Lopez: an Aussie and a Spaniard who met back in 2011 and decided to create a simple yet delicious coffee place in Dubai. Tom & Serg opened a few years later in Al Quoz, an industrial area off Sheikh Zayed Road, that sees more and more trendy places opening (including Dubai Art hub Alserkal Avenue). Tom & Serg has this industrial feel that hipsters crave, but more importantly offers delicious food in a cool atmosphere … Oh and breakfast is served all day… Need I say more ?
Yes, one more thing, Tom & Sergio are also the owner of The Sum of Us, so you can expect the same great tastes and trendy atmosphere !

102 beach Road , Jumeirah 1 / Cafe : 7.30am – 9pm / + 971 4 385 45 55
Anywhere else than in Dubai, Comptoir 102 would just be your typical trendy lifestyle concept store and trendy coffee. But in Dubai’s fancy F&B scene, Comptoir 102 really stands out for its amazing retail selection and healthy food. Founded in 2012 by a Parisian lady (Shall we just agree that frenchies rock ?), the shop curates an eclectic and discerned selection of fashion, jewellery and decoration, while the cafe offers award winning conscious food. I haven’t tried everything on the menu (yet), but among my favourites are the buckwheat pancakes and honey oatmeal pudding. They also have some of the best smoothies and delicious organic tea and you can seat outdoor on their lovely bohemian terrace. Definitely one of the best breakfasts in Dubai !
