BEST BREAKFASTS IN DUBAI
SOCIETY CAFE & LOUNGE
Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, behind an unassuming grey facade lies one of the prettiest cafes in Dubai. Inside, the decoration is modern and minimalistic, it is all about bright white walls, pretty wooden furniture, greeneries at every corner (and hanging from the ceiling), and a lot of sunlight thanks to its glass roof. Oh so Pinterest worthy! From the all-day breakfast menu, we tried the Eggs Benedict with bacon (AED 55), served in a delicious croissant (As a French I probably shouldn’t condone, but I DO !) and the Avocado Toast (65AED). Served on brown rye bread, with cream cheese, peas, nuts, and edamame, it was one of the most surprising and delicious avo toast I ever had. Not convinced yet? Take a look at their beautiful Instagram feed … If these pictures don’t make you hungry and excited for breakfast, nothing will! Society Cafe truly deserves a top place in the list of best breakfasts in Dubai.
On the weekend, breakfast is served from 8am to 5pm,
SUM OF US
If you are a lover of good bread, home-made coffee, and a trendy meal, this place is for you. With its modern industrial decor and a small outdoor seating area, it is the perfect place for a Saturday morning breakfast in Dubai. From 8 am to 12 pm, you can pick anything from the breakfast menu, and starting at 12pm, you can also pick from the lunch options.
Among my favorites are the croissant (duh obviously – go for the almond croissant if you feel super naughty), the Big Breakfast (a good classic) and the Confit Lamb salad (part of the lunch menu).

Yes, you got me, I am a hipster place lover … Sorry, not sorry!
If you are up for some vegan, gluten free food, being around post-workout sexy boys and girls, this is for you! I only visited once, but I really loved the laidback vibe of that place and it is definitely one of my favorite breakfast places in Dubai.
It was really hard to pick something from the breakfast menu, as everything looked yummy, but I eventually settled for The Surfer Breakfast. At AED 94, it doesn’t come cheap, but you get a little bit of everything : 3 eggs your style, granola with Greek yogurt, toast and fresh fruits. More surprising there is also a gluten-free beetroot muffin (go ahead, roll your eyes !), which is actually pretty good. It all comes with a selection of tea or coffee and fresh juice. Who needs anything else? Next time I will make sure to try one of their Acai Bowl (they have a dedicated menu of Acai Bowls !!) . Each item on the menu is clearly marked as vegetarian, containing gluten, nuts or dairy. So if you have a specific diet, it is pretty easy to navigate around the menu.
Breakfast is served until 2 pm.

I said it before, I will say it again … You can take me out of France, but you can’t take French food out of me !
If you are looking for a delicious French breakfast in a chic Bistrot meets Boulangerie setting, La Serre is the place for you. I usually go for the classic scrambled eggs, half a fresh baguette with butter and jam, and a croissant (probably the best croissants in Dubai!). If you feel like splurging, try the scrambled eggs with French Perigord truffles … Because of the AED 200 price tag I never tried it, so I would love to hear your opinion about it !!!!
Just in case you are an early riser, the boulangerie opens at 6.30am. La Serre get very crowded over the weekend, so unless you arrive very early, except a little waiting time before you get a table.

TOM & SERG
Tom & Serg is the brain child of Tom Arnel and Sergio Lopez: an Aussie and a Spaniard who met back in 2011 and decided to create a simple yet delicious coffee place in Dubai. Tom & Serg opened a few years later in Al Quoz, an industrial area off Sheikh Zayed Road, that sees more and more trendy places opening (including Dubai Art hub Alserkal Avenue). Tom & Serg has this industrial feel that hipsters crave, but more importantly offers delicious food in a cool atmosphere … Oh and breakfast is served all day… Need I say more ? I almost always go for the scramble eggs on toast, because they are perfectly cooked (the waiter will ask how you want you eggs to be, and they really follow that), and the sourdough bread is to die for.
Yes, one more thing, Tom and Sergio are also the owner of The Sum of Us, so you can expect the same great tastes and trendy atmosphere !

Anywhere else than in Dubai, Comptoir 102 would just be your typical trendy lifestyle concept store and trendy coffee. But in Dubai’s fancy F&B scene, Comptoir 102 really stands out for its amazing retail selection and healthy food. Founded in 2012 by a Parisian lady (Shall we just agree that frenchies rock ?), the shop curates an eclectic and discerned selection of fashion, jewellery and decoration, while the cafe offers award-winning conscious food. I haven’t tried everything on the menu (yet), but among my favorites are the buckwheat pancakes and honey oatmeal pudding. They also have some of the best smoothies and delicious organic tea and you can seat outdoor on their lovely bohemian terrace. Definitely one of the best breakfasts in Dubai!

In Downtown Dubai just to the left of the Opera House entrance, is one of the prettiest restaurants in town. With its velvety pink seat, potted palm trees, marble tables, teal tiles and copper accents, Kizmet is a little Instagram paradise. But not only. On the breakfast menu: a handful of classics, but always with a twist. I ordered the Kizz Benedict (60 AED): eggs benedicts (classic) served with chocolate cured bacon (the twist!). They also have Kaya Toast (35 AED) (OMG the ex Singapore expat in me is dying !), and Gluten-Free pancakes (45 AED) Both food and coffee are served in the pretties antic looking tableware. Kizmet is a licensed restaurant so you can even indulge in a pitcher of Mimosa or a Bloody Mary with your friends!
Breakfast is served from 10 am to 2 pm.
